HOW TO GO TO CONFESSION

I. Make the Sign of the Cross

II. Tell Father how long it has been since your last confession.

III. Confess your sins

ACT OF CONTRITION

Oh my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended You. I detest all my sins because of Your just punishments. Most of all, because I have offended You, my God, who are all good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Your grace, to sin no more and avoid the near occasion of sin. Amen.

IV. After the Absolution, the priest will say:

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good.

You then respond:

His mercy endures forever.
