In order to volunteer with the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO), a person must complete all six (6) of the pre-requisites highlighted on this page.

CLEARANCES & COURSES

Federal Criminal Background Check

A Federal background check and fingerprinting are required for volunteers.

If you have lived in Pa. of 10 consecutive years, please sign Disclosure Statement.

Print out results and submit to the School.

Pre-register for fingerprinting below.

For all current and prospective parish and other staff/volunteers, use the following service code: 1KG6Y3 for VOLUNTEERS.

If you don't fall under the above category, contact the Department of Human Services at (717) 783-6211 to determine the appropriate code.

Fee is $23.85.

Dept. of Public Welfare Child Abuse Clearance

Create an account; print out your results for submission to the School.

Required renewal every five (5) years.

Act 24: Arrest and Conviction Report

PA State Police Criminal Record Check

Print out your results for submission to the School.

Required renewal every five (5) years.

Protecting God's Children
-
Protecting God's Children (instructor-led), is offered regularly at sites throughout the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

Part I training provides basic facts about child sexual abuse and adult's roles in prevention.
-
Part II is an online supplement available in English and Spanish that is necessary for the Mandatory Reporting of Suspected Child Abuse.

The training provides an overview of Archdiocesan reporting procedures for suspected child abuse and Pennsylvania Child Welfare Laws.

The training should take you approximately one hour to complete.
